Monthly Subscription Mountain Bike Programs for Kids
Noosa | Nambour | Gympie | Caloundra
-
After School Shredders – Monthly SubscriptionFrom: $139.99 / month
-
Saturday Development Team – Monthly Subscription$199.99 / month
-
Saturday Development Team With Road Trips – Monthly SubscriptionFrom: $269.99 / month
Bike On offers subscription programs, that are charged on a month-by-month basis.
Kids enrolled in subscription programs come to their selected after school or weekend programs during term, and over school holidays can come to a wide variety of programs at no additional cost (past the monthly fee). Many of our programs sell out and a subscription guarantees a space on going, until cancelled or paused.
Subscriptions also come with a range of other benefits for parents too including:
- Access to free ad hoc adult’s MTB coaching groups
- Discounted weekend and weeklong MTB holidays
- 10% off Bike servicing at Venture Cycles
- 10% of suspension servicing at Black Art MTB
There are no minimum enrolment periods and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Refunds and credits are not provided for the unused portion of the month; however, you are free to utilise the enrolment to the end of the month in which you cancel.
NON-SUBSCRIPTION Options
We do offer the majority of our programs as a non-subscription, pay up front term by term option. In many circumstances, these are more expensive than a subscription option. These are only available in the lead up to each term or for holiday programs. If you do not see the term only program you are looking for, please contact us.
After School Shredders – After school | 3:45pm – 5:15pm | 5-17 years | Beginner – advanced
Development Team – Saturday mornings 9:00am – 11:00am | 8-17 years | Intermediate – advanced
Development Team with Road Trips – Saturday mornings 9:00am – 11:00am | 3 x FULL DAY road trips to other SEQ MTB locations 3 times per term | 12-17 years | Upper intermediate – advanced – Minimum ride standards apply. Add and after school program for $50 per month
Performance Race Teams – Acceptance criteria and minimum riding standards apply, contact us for further details. High end skills coaching supported with specific instruction form strength and conditioning coaches to improve stamina, strength, movement and coordination. 4hr weekend coaching sessions, weekday self guided fitness training required (following plans developed with their coaches). Race day support provided along with pre-race trail visits and coaching on race trails in the lead up to races. Regular race participation required for admission
School Holiday Programs – Holiday MTB skills development and fun | 5-17 years | Beginner – advanced
School Holiday Shuttle Bus Programs – Lots of fast riding under supervision without the hill climbs | 9 -17 years | Upper intermediate – advanced (this is a program for strong, confident and capable riders only)
Please note suggested ages are just indicative but if outside these ages please consider contacting us to discuss suitability.
Typically, a subscription option will be better value. Subscription programs allow for monthly payments and future renewals can be cancelled at any time. As they continue over holidays, they include holiday programs and will be much cheaper than even purchasing a single holiday program each holiday period. Subscriptions also include 1 Bike On team jersey for free every year.
Term only programs are sold as a 10-week block, they are not creditable or refundable for unused portions. After school term only programs represent marginally better value if there is no possibility your child will ride in any school holiday programs, doesn’t want a team jersey and only wants to ride one program per week, otherwise a subscription will be the better option. Weekend Term Only programs are just as, if not more, expensive than the subscription options, however as there is still some demand for the pay everything up front option, we do still offer the option if you wish.

Frequently Asked Questions
All of Bike On’s Mountain Bike Coaching programs are about having fun in a low pressure, supportive and inclusive environment. We aim to develop a life long passion for the joy and excitement of mountain biking by allowing kids to have fun, ride with mates and take their riding to the next level in a progressive manner under the supervision of PMBIA qualified coaches.
All our programs are open to a wide range of ages and skills and we run all programs with multiple coaches and multiple groups so your child will participate with a group of students of a similar ability and work on developing skills at a level appropriate to them.
Most sessions will have the instructor introducing a particular focus skill, practicing this skill in a controlled environment so the kids become familiar with it, then we spend the rest of the session riding around putting it into practice on the trails.
During School Term Bike On operates the following weekly programs:
- Monday | 3:45pm – 5:15pm | Gympie (Victory Heights Recreational Trails) | Beginner – Advanced | 5-17 years

- Saturday | 9:00am – 11:00am | Alternates weekly between Nambour and Noosa| | Intermediate – Advanced | 8-17 years
During school holidays, we run a large variety of programs across all locations, see our holiday programs section for all options.

We run programs for all standards from beginner to advanced race programs. Our programs cater to kids 5-17 years of age. To participate in a program, riders must at least be capable of:
- Confidently riding a bike on smooth dirt surfaces.
- Stopping a bike using hand brakes without placing feet on the ground.
- Be prepared to ride up hills. Please be aware these are group programs. Although we cater to young children, to avoid adversely impacting the groups all participants MUST have the resilience and ability to ride up hills without dismounting and walking.
Some programs that only cater to more advanced riders will have additional requirements and different age recommendations. Please note suggested ages are just indicative but if outside these ages please consider contacting us to discuss suitability.
Bike Requirements
The bike must be of a standard that doesn’t represent an unreasonable safety risk when riding on mountain bike trails. A suitable bike will have:
- Functional hand brakes for both the front AND rear wheels (No foot brakes permitted)
- Correctly adjusted and well maintained gears (Bike must have gears)
- Tires with a reasonable amount of tread
- Minimum tire size of 20” – It is highly unlikely that bikes with smaller wheels will be suitable for any programs.
- Well maintained and serviced
All programs come with completely free bike safety checks, conducted by Bike On which also includes free basic adjustments (excludes parts and labour costs to fit).
*Please note some more advanced programs have additional requirements
Additional Equipment Requirements
The following additional equipment is compulsory for all programs:
- A correctly fitting Australian Standards approved helmet – We strongly suggest a full face helmet
- Enclosed footwear – We suggest MTB specific footwear
- Water AND a method of carrying it
- A tube that is suitable for your bike
Please note Instructors are already required to carry a significant amount of equipment and heavy backpacks as part of their role. They have very limited space in the backpacks, please do not assume them to be in a position to carry participant’s water or snacks
*Please note some more advanced programs have additional requirements
We would also strongly recommend the following protective equipment:
- Full face helmet
- Knee and elbow pads
- Full finger gloves
Ultimately, we will allocate kids to groups that are suitable for their level of skill and stamina. This is done by a basic riding skills assessment on the first week and ongoing feedback from their coach. As students’ progress, they will be moved up groups as required. Most of our programs cater to all levels of riders, so we will have a suitable group for them.
While we make every effort to allow friends to ride together, we cannot put kids up into groups that they are not ready for. Kids will typically have the opportunity to drop down a skill level if they request, but this is up to the child in question and may impact what they learn.
Bike On is all about development. We can assist your child from their first MTB steps through to becoming an instructor or participating in our race team. Many of our younger instructors are actually Bike On students who have progressed to the point where they hold PMBIA coaching qualifications and now coach kids for us.
Weekly Programs
In the interest of transparency and to avoid disappointment, we’d like to make it clear that all programs are priced on the assumption that 7 out of 10 weeks will run each term. However, we will run all 10 weeks of term at no additional charge if conditions allow (essentially providing up to 3 free sessions per term and some degree of flexibility for students that skip weeks for various reasons). In normal circumstances, participants will get more than the 7 weeks, in very rare circumstances they may not. In order to ensure space for your child, a booking reserves the space for each week of the term. Low weekly costs are achieved by selling spaces as a term long program and are not possible by selling weekly spots on a casual basis. As with most term or season long group sports, they are not costed to include credits, refunds or alternative classes for weeks missed for any reason.
If you envisage missing the majority of weeks, you may wish to pay the week-by-week casual fee of $75 however this is strictly subject to availability on the week in the group that is suitable for your child. No guarantee of availability of casual spots on any given week are given and availability changes over the term.
In the event of inclement weather (heavy rain, storms etc.) we may look to postpone, modify or cancel the session, but will attempt to deliver the majority of classes. As a result, we do ride in the rain with due consideration to safety. We will make every effort to deliver all sessions in any given period, but the program pricing assumes that events beyond our control may result in some programs not running. Bike On strictly adhere to capacity numbers for all programs and cannot typically accommodate missed or cancelled sessions by moving kids around between different programs week to week.
Holiday Programs
Credits and refunds are only offered for holiday programs we cancel. Where children elect not to ride for some or all of the program for any reason including weather, tiredness other issues, refunds or credits are not typically provided. A full overview of our booking policy is here.
Term only programs are sold in the lead up to each term. They are a pay upfront purchase of the entire term block and do not automatically renew at the end of each term. They do not include the Bike On jersey that is included with subscription programs. Term Only programs do not include school holiday programs and participation in holiday programs will require a separate booking and payment.
If you would like to trial a Bike On program, we would strongly encourage you to sign up for a subscription from $139.99 per month (cancel any time, no obligation to continue after the first 4 weeks). This will give your child 4 weeks to try out the program, get to know the coaches, other kids in the groups and develop the skill required to start enjoying MTB riding.
Alternatively, single casual lessons are available at $75 and are subject to availability, please contact us to arrange a single trial lesson.

Most sessions run with the instructor introducing a particular focus skill, practicing this skill in a controlled environment so the kids become familiar with it, then we spend the rest of the session riding around putting it into practice on the trails.
Fun & Low Pressure
Mountain biking is an amazing sport. It is fun, social, low pressure, provides a great sense of adventure and develops a lifelong love of the outdoors.
Our goal at Bike On is to share this joy of mountain biking with kids of all ages and support them as they grow and develop in the sport.
While we have a focus on skill development, our programs also offer a great social element allowing kids to make friends with others that share similar interests and can be a great option for kids who don’t love team sports but still enjoy the social aspect of group participation.

Told you last time that I would be back! Thank you once again for a very enjoyable and professional rental experience…..our BMC road bikes were perfect and your pick up/delivery service is the best. I will be back✅ James Manning2025-05-04Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I decided last minute to go for a E-Bike ride because the weather looked great. Matt and the team were very friendly and able to offer some E-Bikes and suggested we go for a ride up to the top of Mt Tinbeerwah. The bikes were fantastic! We were able to go up the Hills with ease and enjoyed the scenery on the way up. On the way down we went to the Marina at Tewantin for a beer and drinks. When we got back Matt gave a us voucher for the brewery across the road which just topped it off. All in all a great 3hrs spent and great value for money. John Taylor2025-04-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Friendly staff and excellent e-cruiser bikes. Seat was comfy, also could download GPS route maps. patchwerk012025-04-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Staff helped out with directions to nearby trail network. Easy enough to get to and from them on an ebike. Bike was in good condition and trails were fun. Frank Gerrits2025-04-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Top quality mountain bike and good fun trails nearby. I would highly recommend. Emelyn Cronier2025-04-27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was my second time renting a bike with Bike On. Both experiences were perfect. Good quality bike and gear. I recommend 👌🏻 JR2025-04-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would agree with other reviewers. Very rude experience. Based on a recommendation from another staff member I had booked and paid for an ebike to do a 84km ride. I had explained that I have an arthritic knee and I need the electric assistance. When I arrived to pick up the bike, Matt told me he would not personally use the EMTB for the path I was doing. He spent a lot of time telling me why the EMTB is not the best for me. I was trying to tell Matt the type of riding I do and that I am experienced except he was talking over the top of me. When I asked what bike he would recommend instead, he became upset and wouldn't show me. I asked again if he could show me because I prefer to be upright rather than bent over the handlebars on an EMTB. Rather than discussing options, he told me I was being “too difficult,” cancelled my booking, and refunded my money. He then threatened to call the police and asked me to leave the premises. Everyone wants to get on with their day peacefully without the unnecessary aggravation. Even getting a printed receipt for the refund was made unnecessarily difficult. In my experience, this business does not want to listen to customers or support their needs for a safe and comfortable ride. Matt twisted the situation around rather than calmly working through a solution. I would not recommend this place to others. It was the most disappointing experience I have had while travelling in the last 40 years. UPDATE Thank you for your reply. To clarify, I remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction. I simply sought clarification about the most appropriate bike for my needs, based on advice provided by your staff at the time of booking. When I mentioned that the experience could impact the review I would leave, your staff member openly stated that they did not care. That is not the response of a business focused on customer service. Rather than attempting to work through the situation, my booking was cancelled without notice. I had travelled from Caloundra, stayed overnight in accommodation, and had planned for a 84 kilometre ride — there was no reason for me to want anything other than to proceed with the booking as planned. After the booking was cancelled and I felt verbally abused, I waited for the police to arrive in order to help sort out the situation and ensure I received a refund, because of the way the cancellation was handled. I made it clear that I was happy to wait for the Police to arrive, given the way I had been treated. The staff member continued to threaten to call the Police instead of working through the situation calmly, but no Police ever attended. I have no commercial conflict of interest. I was a genuine paying customer, simply seeking a suitable bike for a long-distance ride, considering my medical needs. I stand by my review based on the treatment I received. It was disappointing to see that even when given the opportunity to turn the situation around, the staff made it clear that they "did not care".
