Boomerang Bike Park is an expert level park, with expert level features. There is a very real risk of very serious injury, while we will supervise and look for competent progression through features (as opposed to just letting kids immediately hit the big features) in an attempt to minimise this risk, however, the risk is real and can not be eliminated.
Although we know many kids have ridden at Boomerang Bike Park unsupervised, all participants will be required to ride with one of the instructors or nominated supervisors and where the group does not fit on one shuttle, wait at the top.
Where we have doubts over a participant’s ability to successfully ride a feature, they will be instructed not to attempt it and all participants are expected to respect these requests – this is to manage risk, but by no means removes the very significant risk of serious injury represented by the features at Boomerang Bike Park.
This is a Very Advanced Program and the bike must be of a standard that doesn’t represent an unreasonable safety risk when riding at speed over rough terrain. We have a duty of care to all participants. Unsafe bikes pose a risk not only to the rider but other participants and trail users too. We can not allow children to participate on unsafe bikes. There will not be credits or refunds if your child can not participate due to the unsafe or unsuitable nature of their bike. All programs come with completely free bike safety checks, conducted by Bike On which also includes free basic adjustments (excludes parts and labour costs to fit). We would strongly encourage parents to take advantage of this offer if they have any doubts about the suitability of the bike.
The following additional equipment is compulsory for this program for it’s entirety:
A full face helmet and knee pads are COMPULSORY
Enclosed footwear – We suggest MTB specific footwear
Water AND a method of carrying it
A tube that is suitable for your bike
Please note, Instructors are already required to carry a significant amount of equipment and heavy backpacks as part of their role. They have very limited space in the backpacks so please do not assume them to be in a position to carry participant’s water or snacks.
Elbow pads
Full finger gloves
