Noosa MTB crew

Noosa is a great place to MTB with an awesome range of tracks. You can start with Tewantin State Forest, although a small forest it is still renowned for some excellent single track rides. The Noosa MTB crew has formed a working group with QPW to help maintain the tracks in this forest click here for more info about the Noosa working group.

Noosa MTB crew & visitors meet at Wooroi day use area in Tewantin State Forest most Saturday mornings at 6:30am for about a 2 hour MTB ride. This is not a club ride, just a group of MTB'ers meeting for a ride, so there is no insurance cover.


The local clubs are noosa trailblazers mtb club & the Bushranger's MTB club we recommend you join for insurance & for all the benefits club's can offer.

An exciting mountain bike endurance event on the USM Events calendar; the Noosa Enduro is a hard ride that demands fitness and strength– but that’s the adventure.

  Feb 7th, Mapleton social meet Lily ponds 7.30am grade 2 and 3.
14th Feb, Show the real love of your life (your bike) how to have a great time - Imbil ride meet park opp Hotel 7.30am grade 3.
21st Feb ,Cooloolabin Dam meet day use area past dam 7am grade 2,or for those who want longer ride meet Yandina BMX trk 6am to meet group at 7am.grade 3.
28th Feb Parklands meet Atkinson rd 7am grade 3 and 4. Also Mebbin marathon 75k northen NSW.

7th March, Mapleton social meet Lily ponds 7.30am ride away 7.45am,split into 2 groups grades 2 and 3.  Also round 1 MTBO Karingal scout camp,Mt Cotton.

14th March Glasshouse mtns ride meet at Matthew Fiinders rest area,new location a few ks past sports club on the right 7am  for ride away 7.15 sharp.grade 2 and 3,some new trails,not doing 3rd lookout this trip.
21st March, Ewan Maddock Dam meet carpark 7am ride away 7.15 grade 2 and 3 proberly split into 2 groups.
28th March Parklands meet Atkinson rd 7am try to be quite for the neighbours. 4th April Mapleton social ride meet Lily ponds 7.30am ride away 7.45am grade 2 and 3.  Also 2nd round MTBO Beerburrum. If any members want to know more regarding MTB Orienteering, check out www.mtbo.com.au/ 

Ride Gradings :

Grade 1: Fairly flat, wide and smooth track or gravel road. Suitable for all first-time riders/family. Grade 2: Gentle climbs and easily avoidable obstacles. You couldn't ride it in your sleep, but most beginners will still enjoy 1-2 hours

Grade 3: Challenging riding with steeper slopes and obstacles, possibly on a narrow track with poor traction. Requires riding experience and moderate fitness.2-3 hours

Grade 4: A mixture of long or steep climbs, loose track surfaces, more difficult obstacles. Good fitness and bike skills req. 2-4 hours

Grade 5: Long hard climbs, steeper grades, sharp corners, some tricky obstacles. Some sections are  easier to walk. Very good fitness and bike skills required. 4 hours or more.

Ride Info :

First Sunday of each month is our Social ride where NON MEMBER  riders of ALL abilities are welcome as long as you have a bike in good working order and an approved helmet and water. We ride in all weather (within reason !!) 
 

The club is affiliated with MTBA who provides insurance cover for the club and it’s members on gazetted rides and races.
