Sergeant Mel Scott & Noosa Council invited a few of the road crew to council for a chat to make our road use safer for the on road cyclist, we were able to put our point of view across & explain how the bunch etiquette works. Sgt. Scott told us about some of the complaints he has received, which have decreased recently, due to us riding in single file along Cooroy-Noosa Road.
The three party's involved agreed to a few things. Nigel Walker from council will organize a meeting with the two bus company's, the quarry truck drivers, QPF (Sgt. Scott), Noosa council & us (should be a good meeting), also he will be taking up a number of issues with Main Roads.
Sgt. Scott will make sure all complaints are followed up, West of Tinbeerwah Hall complaints go to Sgt. Scott Cooroy Police Station, East of the hall to Noosa police first.
We agreed to ride within the law, single file along Cooroy-Noosa Road & to look at a better way of changing turns in the bunch so we don't ride four abreast (we tried rolling turns this morning, it seamed to work okay)
Neil'o sent me a bunch etiquette document a while ago see below, we need to compact it & customize it to suite our rides so we can pass it on to the visiting tourist & new bunch riders. Can you check it out & get back to me with any suggestions http://www.bikeon.com.au/ride_mag5.html#Etiquette
