Bike On Aust. Guiding Students in Tewantin State Forest

Noosa is a great place to MTB with an awesome range of tracks. You can start with Tewantin State Forest, although a small forest it is still renowned for some excellent single track rides.

We have included below a list of rides on our web site which are regularly rides. If you need any further information please click here to contact us

Tewantin State Forest A 6 km loop from Wooroi Picnic area (yield to the walkers). South from the trail head up a road which slowly climbs to the top of a ridge. At the T  junction then a quick right towards Sunrise Rd. Just before the road another right onto a great section of single track parallel with the road. 1 km along the cheese grater descent begins keep your head-up on this one, it finishes through a rainforest and the fire road you started on. If you want to extend your ride, head over to the Tewantin forest, just across the Cooroy road and up a bit. Another great area and an outlook at the top of the climb is Mt. Tinbeerwah, the 2 km's to the top are bitumen.

The Noosa Trail Network enables residents and visitors to enjoy our spectacular hinterland countryside. Trails are well signposted, with picnic shelters, water tanks, interpretative signs and scenic lookouts. Of various lengths, they can be completed in sections or combination; some require a high level of fitness.

Mapleton State Forest. (Sunmap J7) up the range to the Mapleton Pub, turn right, twice, follow the signs to Forest Drive. 3.5 km from town to the picnic day-use area. This is Grand Central for this portion of the forest. Get a bearing and you can return to here from most rides. DNR have recently installed a marked trail system of five rides, read the new signs. This area is massive (10,000 ha.), riddled with literally hundreds of km's of fire road, double and single track. Unfortunately, you need to be guided to the finer areas (Baby’s heads, G-spot, Fairlane), typically none of the good spots are named, but find a local or a club member for a bit of local knowledge.

Parklands (Nambour) Designated non-motorized multi-use (no permits needed). 50 km's of mainly fire road and double track in this area, eyes tuned for signs of old horse single-tracks. DNR have marked three loops, also some mighty fine management trails as well. This area is full of O2 sucking climbs and interesting rolling descents. From Atkinson Rd trail head go west to the red #1 track sign post 500m, then left up the steep hill 1km to the towers. This will give you a great view of the area. Continue down the old bitumen to the #1 track sign, right, until you link with loop #2, just try to keep orientated, it is a large area (800 hectares) with very little company. It will take 2 days just to get comfortable in here, but it’s worth it. Carry as much water as you can for this one.
